Commish's Quiz

More than trivia, this quiz prompts recall of the small details that influence Commission operations and past decisions. Each month, a different "teaser" is posted.

Commission Members who know the answer(s) should: email the correct response before 8 p.m. Monday., 1/10/05! Send your answers to Service.Commission@maine.gov. All correct answers will be well rewarded at the meeting.

This month's quiz

For the next ten months, the Commission will celebrate its own anniversary and accomplishments.

The milestone coincides with a similar celebraton of both the establishment of AmeriCorps and the creation of CNCS.

For this month's prize, the question relates to the regional CNCS staff and the answer was in a set of minutes used at the October Board retreat!

During the first 2 years of MCCS existence, there was a Maine office of CNCS with a staff person who oversaw the programs in the state. When the office was combined with NH and VT to create the tri-state office we've known for the last 8 years, that person resigned and took a position with Job Corps in Aroostook County.

Who is she?

And the answer to last month's quiz is below!

During the 10 years of MCCS history, the Program Officer position on staff has been held by 5 different people. Name 4 of them!

For a bonus, who held the Program Officer position twice?

Held the position twice: Anne Schink

Other program officers -- Maryalice Crofton, Grace Braley, Heather Chandler, Susan Spinell
