Commish's Quiz

More than trivia, this quiz prompts recall of the small details that influence Commission operations and past decisions. Each month, a different "teaser" is posted.

Commission Members who know the answer(s) should: email the correct response before 8 p.m. Monday., 3/7/05! Send your answers to Service.Commission@maine.gov. All correct answers will be well rewarded at the meeting.

This month's quiz

The Commission is directed by two different laws to develop a plan for its work on a periodic basis.

The state law applies to every state agency and is part of Maine's adoption of performance budgeting. In this statute it is referred to as a strategic plan but has a very specific format to align it with performance budgeting.

The CNCS statute directs state service commissions to develop "service plan for the state". The format has evolved over each of the planning cycles.

QUESTIONS:

1. What is the time period that must be covered by the plan required by Maine law? (How many years?)

2. What is the time period that must be covered by the federally required service plan for Maine? (How many years?)

BONUS POINT:

How often do these planning cycles coincide? "Once every ___ years."

And the answer to last month's quiz is below!

Answer: Six

Q:  What Canadian federal agency now has responsibility for overseeing the Initiative?
