AmeriCorps Promotion & Member Development
AmeriCorps Week is a recognition event designed to bring more Americans into service, salute AmeriCorps members and alums for their powerful impact, and thank the community partners who make AmeriCorps possible.
AmeriCorps Week provides an opportunity for AmeriCorps members, alums, grantees, program partners, and friends to shine a spotlight on the service done by members in communities across the country -- and to motivate more individuals to join AmeriCorps or volunteer in their communities.

AmeriCorps Member Conference
Each Spring AmeriCorps members from all across the state gather for the annual AmeriCorps Member Conference.
This conference is a “For member – By member” conference where members:
- design and organize the event,
- have the unique opportunity to present to other AmeriCorps members,
- learn from their AmeriCorps peers, and
- network with other members serving in different places and with different programs in Maine.
In the Fall each year, soon after the start of the traditional AmeriCorps program year, the Commission gathers newly serving and continuing AmeriCorps members, as well as AmeriCorps Alumni, for the annual AmeriCorps Launch in the Hall of Flags at Maine's State House.
In recent years, Justices from Maine's Supreme Judicial Court have led the attendees in the AmeriCorps pledge, affirming their commitment to service in the community.
THE AMERICORPS PLEDGE
I will get things done for America - to make our people safer, smarter, and healthier.
I will bring Americans together to strengthen our communities.
Faced with apathy, I will take action.
Faced with conflict, I will seek common ground.
Faced with adversity, I will persevere.
I will carry this commitment with me this year and beyond.
I am an AmeriCorps member, and I will get things done.
