Volunteer Generation Fund


The Maine Commission for Community service is one of 19 state commissions receiving Volunteer Generation Funds from the Corporation for National & Community Service.  The Volunteer Generation Fund, a program authorized by the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, is designed to increase the number of people who serve in meaningful roles as volunteers dedicated to addressing important needs in communities across America.

In Maine, The Volunteer Generation Fund purpose is to develop or expand existing volunteer centers in six areas of the state. Volunteer centers are one-stop locations for:
