National Service in Maine
The Maine Commission for Community Service (MCCS) is the State of Maine partner of the Corporation for National Service (CNCS), the federal agency through which Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Volunteer Generation funds flow.

More than 2,600 people are helping to meet local needs, strengthen communities, and increase civic engagement through 34 Maine national service projects that place National Service participants in more than 340 Maine nonprofits and schools across the state.
In 2015, CNCS has committed more than $6,080,000 to support Maine communities through national service initiatives. Through a unique public-private partnership, this federal investment will leverage an additional $3,220,000 in other resources to strengthen community impact, build local support, and increase return on taxpayer dollars.
Since 1994, the Maine Commission for Community Service has distributed AmeriCorps*State funds through competitive grants to public and nonprofit community organizations.
