Parent volunteers wanted for Task Force

February 23rd, 2006

On MARCH 8, 2006 - A sneak preview of ?TAKE A STAND,? a teen-produced media campaign warning parents about the dangers of providing alcohol to minors, will be held at Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS). Produced by PATHS students, the public service announcements feature the likes of District Attorney Stephanie Anderson, Chief Tim Burton, School Superintendent Mary Jo O?Connor and newly appointed Maine Medical Center Chief of Medical Staff Jacqueline Cawley. Teen actors from Kathleen Harris?s Deering High School drama department and local adult actors also helped to create the spots. The ads are expected to run from mid-April through May on all the major television and radio stations in Portland, to coincide with prom and graduation season. Interested parents and other members of the community are invited to attend the screening and provide feedback prior to the final edits.

CMCA is also seeking parents to join the Parent Task Force. Call CMCA 773-7737 or email cmca@mcd.org for details.
