VolunteerMaine is pleased to introduce a new series of interactive webinars for nonprofit and volunteer program staff. Ranging from the basics to more advanced features, these monthly webinars will feature a number of experts from the VolunteerMaine Partnership to help your organization get the most out of the site.
The first 60-minute webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10th at 9:00 AM."VolunteerMaine for Agencies: The Basics" will give an overview of the features of www.VolunteerMaine.org. You'll leave with a clear understanding of how your organization can benefit from this free resource. VolunteerMaine.org is a statewide link between agencies looking for volunteers and people interested in volunteering. Volunteers can explore opportunities to serve by interest area, availability, or zip code and donate goods or services through the site. Organizations can recruit volunteers for community, government, or school programs at no cost. Special program and staff resources are available including the blog for managers of volunteers and the Peer2Peer Forum.
VolunteerMaine.org is a statewide partnership of organizations that support volunteers. VolunteerMaine.org partners include United Ways of Maine, SeniorsPlus, Aroostook RSVP, 211 Maine, MEMA, Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster, Maine institute for Public Safety Innovation, and the Maine Commission for Community Service.
The Maine Commission for Community Service builds capacity and sustainability in Maine's volunteer sector by funding service programs, developing managers of volunteers, raising awareness of the scope and impact of the sector, and encouraging an ethic of service.
