Volunteerism on the Rise Meter on VolunteerMaine.org

March 8th, 2010

Recognize the volunteers in your group or organization—and you might win a pizza party from Amato’s Pizza! Visit VolunteerMaine.org and click on the “Volunteer Meter” to record the number of volunteers and volunteer hours for your organization.  Final tallies and pizza party winners will be announced during National Volunteer Week at the Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards.  Help us demonstrate the impact of volunteers in Maine!

The Maine Commission for Community Service would also like to invite you to celebrate volunteerism by entering the, “Volunteers in Action” photo contest. Email lauren.kelly@maine.gov a photo depicting volunteers serving the community. Entries are due by March 17, 2010.  Winning entries and honorable mentions will be displayed at the State House during the Governor's Volunteer Service Awards on April 22, 2010.  For contest rules and information on how to enter visit www.maineservicecommission.gov.

We would like to thank all the sponsors working to make National Volunteer Week in Maine special! Amato’s Pizza of Augusta, North East Delta Dental, Maine Association of Non-Profits, American Awards, The Copy Center, Green Tree Event Consultants, and Hannaford. We truly appreciate your support of Maine volunteers and Maine communities!
