- Submission to CNCS of VISTA Program Progress Report Supplement, an annual data-collection report including information about volunteers and resources (cash and in-kind) leveraged by VISTA members and number of ‘clients’ served. Resulted in re-working of data collection from VISTA members through monthly Progress Reports in OnCorps.
- Outreach and site development activities for potential VISTA host sites starting in February, focused on Veterans & Military Families or Service-Learning. CNCS State Program Officer has allocated 5 slots for each, a total of 10. Selection of sites must happen by mid-November and recruitment of VISTA members by mid-December.
- Continue to recruit and interview for one VISTA Leader position to start ASAP.
- Handled day-to-day management of VISTA project as well as challenges at VISTA host sites. Conducted one site visit to resolve issues and began working on a framework for future site monitoring visits.
Blaine House Conference
· Finalization and implementation of all aspects of the conference. Result was a 6% increase in attendance over last year to 310. Highlights included six service-learning workshops, 20+ volunteer management workshops, two keynote speakers, and first-ever Champion of Service Award.
· General registration was down 5%, but National Service registration was up 5%. This is likely due to the fact that Volunteer Generation Fund recipients were included in the CNCS-funded program discount, and more staff members took advantage of the discount to attend the conference as well.
· Collected almost $18,000 worth of presenter in-kind through donation of training services and other expenses related to presenting at the conference.
· Received press coverage from three major local TV stations and local newspaper.
· Tabulated individual workshop session evaluations and conference evaluation; handled follow-up and reimbursement of presenters, accounts payable and invoicing, thank-yous to conference planning committee and guests, and other wrap-up activities.
Other
· Participation in monthly Maine AmeriCorps Training and Technical Assistance meeting and quarterly National Service and Volunteerism Council meeting.
· Supervision of VISTA Leader Katie Klein.
· Attendance at bi-weekly staff meetings and monthly Commission meeting.
