AmeriCorps Grant Peer Reviewers Sought

AUGUSTA – The Maine Commission for Community Service seeks grant peer reviewers for its Fall/Winter 2008 grant competition. The Commission seeks a diverse group of reviewers with expertise in one or more of the following categories: national service, public safety, volunteer management or program design, environmental or energy conservation programs, housing, nonprofit management, emergency management and service delivery in the areas of education, mentoring, and human needs.


Every three years the Maine Commission for Community Service conducts a major competition to determine which organizations will receive AmeriCorps funding. Awards go to applicants who submit strong proposals utilizing citizen service as a strategy to meet high priority community needs. Grant applications received are evaluated using a panel of volunteer experts.
