Statewide 9-11 day of remembrance campaign Kicks Off!
Published September 2, 2011
With only nine days left until 9/11, statewide efforts towards the “I Will” campaign are well underway. The “I Will” campaign aims to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the attacks with service and volunteerism, marking the tragic events by rekindling the spirit of hope and community that followed that devastating day.
The “I Will” campaign has 27 partners throughout the state of Maine. Thirty-three different locations across the state, beginning today and ending on 9/15, are handing out the “I Will” pledge cards. 7,000 pledge cards have been distributed.
There has already been over 80 hours of service pledged for activities such as shoveling neighbors out this winter, giving blood, hospice work, and sending care packages overseas to military members.
