Executive Committee

November 4, 2011

PRESENT: Mary-Anne LaMarre, Eileen Smart, Andrew McLean, Joan McDonald, Drew Matlins, Maryalice Crofton

Joan McDonald reported that the task force completed review of the continuation applications from service-learning grantees. All are recommended for approval at the level of funding requested. The summaries of accomplishments and budgets were provided for everyone to review.

Motion to award funds made by Joan McDonald. Second by Drew Matlins. Roll call vote taken and LaMarre, McLean, McDonald, and Matlins voted affirmative. Smart abstained.

Public Policy
Andrew relayed news from John Portela. He decided to submit an op ed to the Portland Press Herald since there's been no movement on an editorial. Also, John learned that Representative Pingree did sign on to the "dear colleague" letter organized by Voices for Service.

MCCS Future
Drew asked for talking points for his outreach meeting this weekend. Mary-Anne noted everyone will need these and she will get them out. Joan indicated she can do some outreach but prefers to be given an assignment. The contacts should be complete before early December.

Agenda Items for November
In addition to the routine items, Grants will have recommendations on funding VGF continuations to present. Service-learning will present the final draft of the service-learning vision and state plan.

Meeting adjourned at 9:05 am
